Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency jointly delivers welcoming remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from the Lao PDR
On 2 February 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), jointly delivered welcoming remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the 28th Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from the Lao PDR at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University. This Training will be conducted from 31 January to 12 March 2026, comprising of academic lectures, hands-on practical training, and study visits. A total of 60 trainees are participating, including 33 academic and 27 administrative attendees.
The program has been carried out under a Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn since 2000. It aims to enhance participants' knowledge and skills in health promotion, disease prevention, medical treatment, and health administration, while promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences between health personnel of Thailand and the Lao PDR. These efforts contribute to the long-term improvement of the quality of life of people in both countries. To date, a total of 1,170 health personnel from the Lao PDR have participated. TICA is one of the agencies supporting this royal initiative and has continuously served as the coordinating body, while also providing budgetary support for the implementation of the training program. These efforts intend to strengthen cooperative networks and further expand development cooperation in other related fields in the future.
