According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested Cordelle J. Pratt, age 41, of Kingsbury, after deputies responded to a home on Crowley Road in the Town of Kingsbury to assist CPS. On scene, Pratt refused to let Washington County Child Protective Services take custody of a juvenile despite a lawful removal order.
A search warrant was later executed at the home. The juvenile was found and turned over to Child Protective Services. At the time, there was also an active Refrain From Order of Protection in place to protect the juvenile.
Pratt was charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd, Criminal Contempt 2nd, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all Class A misdemeanors.
He was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment and released on his own recognizance. He will appear in Kingsbury Town Court at a later date.
The case involved members of the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Washington County Child Protective Services.
