Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock’s Statement on Appointment to Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office Advisory Panel

November 14, 2025

(AUSTIN) - Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today issued the following statement after being appointed to serve on the Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office Advisory Panel by Gov. Greg Abbott:

Texas has been a national leader in cutting red tape and stopping overregulation, but we can do even more. That's why the new Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office -Texas' DOGE - is so important. I was proud to vote for the legislation that created it earlier this year, and I'm honored to serve on the advisory panel to move this work forward.

As the state's CFO, my daily focus is on making Texas state government leaner and more efficient. Our office is auditing state agencies, rooting out waste and safeguarding the tax dollars entrusted to us by hardworking Texans. And when it comes to keeping government in check, I've always believed you start by limiting how much it can grow. That's why I authored the strongest state spending limit in the nation - to make sure state government lives within its means, just like Texas families do.

Texans deserve government that's efficient, accountable and responsive. I look forward to helping ensure Texas job creators continue to have the freedom to innovate and keep the Texas economy growing.
