Transit alert: annual summer service reductions for 8 – Oakcrest announced

Effective Monday, May 18, 2026, Iowa City Transit will implement its annual service reduction on the 8-Oakcrest route due to decreased demand during the University of Iowa and local school summer break.

During peak-hour service, buses will arrive every 30 minutes, on the hour and at :30, instead of every 15 minutes. The summer 8 - Oakcrest bus schedule is available on our website.

Bus schedules are available on www.icgov.org/busschedules. For up-to-date information on transit routes, download the Transit app. The Transit app will be updated with these changes as of Monday, May 18.
