UPDATE: In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Major Crash Team was notified by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office that a driver of one of the motorcycles died as a result of their injuries. The investigation is still ongoing, and additional information will be released when appropriate.

On Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:14 p.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to reports of a crash involving two motorcycles on Northwest St. Helens Road and Northwest Front Avenue. Officers arrived and found both drivers down. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported both to an area hospital. Both drivers are in critical condition; one with life-threatening injuries.

The Portland Police Bureau Major Crash Team is responding to investigate. During the investigation, Northwest St. Helens Road will be closed between Northwest Front Avenue to Northwest Balboa Avenue.
