Beginning the week of Aug. 10, 2026, the Ada County Highway District will implement a number of measures to improve safety at the crosswalks on University Drive. These changes are meant to increase the safety of pedestrians crossing the roadway by providing better visual clues for drivers and cyclists that they are approaching a crossing. The changes will also make the crossings easier to identify for pedestrians.

It is a top priority for the university to ensure safety on campus and in the neighborhoods surrounding University Drive. Projects to increase safety for all users will continue in partnership with the Ada County Highway District and other stakeholders.
