Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Notable Trends

  • Four aggravated assaults reported over the last two weeks with three arrests and charges referred to the prosecutor in one case. In one arrest, the suspect tried to punch Olympia Fire employees providing medical assistance. He then tried to punch and fought with the officer arresting him. In another arrest, the suspect punched and strangled the victim and twisted her wrist causing injury. In the third arrest, the suspect strangled the victim. In the last case, the suspect hit and strangled the victim.
  • Two robberies reported. In one case, the suspect pepper sprayed the victim and took all his belongings, including food and clothing. The victim did not want to provide a lot of details. Officers arrested the suspect in the other case after they broke the victim's window and then stole his phone as he recorded her actions.
  • Two rapes reported that are both open investigations. The victims know the suspect in both cases.
  • One auto theft reported. The victims had one vehicle prowled and a spare key to the other vehicle was taken and used to steal the car.
  • Five commercial burglaries reported over the two-week period with one an open investigation. In one, the suspect cut the lock to a business storage unit and stole merchandise inside. In another, the suspect accessed the building through unsecured doors and then broke into a storage closet. In another case, the suspect forced entry through a storage door which then gave access to the building. In the last case, the suspect broke a sliding glass door to a former hotel under construction. He locked himself in a bathroom and refused to exit. Officers removed the door and arrested him.

Other Items

Officers responded to 1,910 calls for service over the last two weeks.

Reminder that the annual Toy Run is this Saturday, December 6. The ride starts at 1 p.m. There will be multiple road closures along the route until the motorcycles have cleared. Deschutes Parkway will be closed most of the day. Please follow directions of officers and volunteers doing traffic control. Check out their website for more info on the event and the route.

This week's photo is from our annual Heroes and Helpers event. Target's donation supported taking 14 kids shopping for the holiday season, followed by pizza and wrapping with officers at our substation. Thank you to everyone who contributed to an awesome event!
