Road Closure for Western Parallel to begin May 6th for Bridge Rehabilitation project

A road closure will begin on May 6, 2026 for a bridge replacement project on the Western Parallel and Mt Olive. The suggested detour map is above. Plan your routes accordingly to avoid delays.

What: Road Closure on Mt. Olive Road for Roadway Relocation and Bridge Construction.

Location: Mt. Olive Road from Henry Town Center entrance for a distance of 1,000-ft looking North.

Why: To construct Bridge 1 over Walnut Creek, construct walls, demo and relocate the existing Mt. Olive Road.

When: May 6, 2026, with a completion scheduled for Fall of 2026.

Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
