VANCOUVER, Wash. - The American Hospital Association (AHA) is honoring PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver for 50 years of membership and participation in the organization.
Sean Barry, AHA Regional Executive, was in Vancouver recently to present a plaque of recognition to PeaceHealth Southwest Regional Chief Executive Cherelle Montanye and other PeaceHealth Southwest leaders.
"The American Hospital Association is proud to recognize PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for 50 years of membership," said Barry. "Their team of caregivers and other professionals play a vital role in the health of the local community and its economy."
PeaceHealth's partnership with the AHA is not only long standing. It's also near and dear to many of our senior leaders. PeaceHealth's President of Strategy and Business Value Mike Dwyer serves on the AHA Committee on Health Strategy and Innovation, and recently retired PeaceHealth VP and COO Richard DeCarlo had previously served on the regional AHA board.
As a member of the AHA, PeaceHealth Southwest joins nearly 5,000 hospitals and health systems nationwide in helping shape national health policy and supporting best practices to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
About PeaceHealth: PeaceHealth, based in Vancouver, Wash., is a non-profit Catholic health system offering care to communities in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. PeaceHealth has approximately 16,000 caregivers, more than 3,000 providers, more than 160 clinics and 9 medical centers serving both urban and rural communities throughout the Northwest. In 1890, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace founded what has become PeaceHealth. The Sisters shared expertise and transferred wisdom from one medical center to another, always finding the best way to serve the unmet need for healthcare in their communities. Today, PeaceHealth is the legacy of the founding Sisters and continues with a spirit of respect, stewardship, collaboration and social justice in fulfilling its Mission.
