The Florida League of Cities, the united voice for Florida's municipal governments, announced that City of Tampa Chief Financial Officer Dennis R. Rogero, Jr., was recently appointed to serve on the Florida League of Cities 2025-2026 Finance and Taxation Committee, one of the League's five Legislative Policy Committees.

Legislative Policy Committee chairs, vice chairs and members were appointed by Florida League of Cities President Holly D. Smith, Vice Mayor of Sanibel.

As a Legislative Policy Committee member, Rogero will help develop the League's Legislative Platform, which details priority issues that are most likely to affect daily municipal governance and local decision-making during the upcoming legislative session, as well as help League staff understand the real-world implications of proposed legislation. Committee members are also asked to serve as advocates for local decision-making throughout the legislative process.

"I'm honored to contribute to the Finance and Taxation Committee. Sound fiscal policy is the foundation of strong communities, and this committee plays a vital role in shaping how cities across Florida are able to invest in services, infrastructure, and quality of life," said CFO Dennis Rogero. "I look forward to bringing Tampa's perspective and experience to these statewide discussions."

"Dennis has dedicated much of his career to strengthening Tampa's financial foundation, and his appointment reflects that expertise," added Mayor Jane Castor. "His voice on this committee will ensure our city, and others across Florida, are well represented in critical policy discussions."

Dennis Rogero has been with the City of Tampa since 2009, serving as a Budget Operations Manager, Budget Officer, Neighborhood Empowerment Director, the Mayor's Chief of Staff, and currently the Chief Financial Officer. As Chief Financial Officer, Dennis serves as the Administrator for the Revenue and Finance Department, where he is primarily responsible for administering the annual budget and overseeing the primary functions of accounting, grants management, investments, and pension administration.

Prior to joining the City of Tampa, Dennis served as the Assistant Budget Director and then Budget Director for Brevard County, FL, for nearly 10 years.

He has an MA in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida, is a Certified Government Finance Officer, and is a Certified Public Pension Trustee.
