On June 18, 2026, at approximately 1:18 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing in the 100 block of Henry Avenue.
North and Central District General Patrol officers, with assistance from the Tactical Support Team (TST) and the Rapid Response Unit (RRU), attended and located an adult male with serious injuries who was receiving care from the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service.
Officers learned that an adult male suspect approached the victim and engaged him in an unprovoked altercation. The suspect produced a weapon and assaulted him in the upper body before fleeing the area. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Ronald Alexander Grego Findlay of Winnipeg.
The Homicide Unit has assumed responsibility for the investigation.
