A public hearing to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Deda Margilaj

The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Deda Margilaj. The hearing will be conducted via video using Microsoft Teams.

Those planning to access the hearing must complete the online registration form no later than April 3, 2026. Public hearing guidelines and access information can be found here.

Deda Margilaj was sentenced to a term of 7 years to 15 years for the crime of Murder 2nd Degree. Deda Margilaj was sentenced on May 15, 1978, out of Wayne County.

Crissa Blankenburg, Member of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Parole Board.

This hearing is required by state law prior to consideration of any pardon by the Governor.

When logging into the hearing, your video camera must be turned off and audio muted to eliminate distraction during the hearing.
