During a press conference in Ulaanbaatar, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Secretary-General, Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, and the Director General of Mongolian National Broadcaster (MNB), Ms. Gerel Gankhuyag, addressed the media ahead of the ABU General Assembly 2025.
The event marked the second time that Mongolia, through MNB, had hosted the ABU General Assembly. Both leaders highlighted the importance of the gathering for fostering collaboration, exchanging ideas, and addressing industry challenges among Asia-Pacific broadcasters.
Mr. Nadeem emphasized that the General Assembly served as a vital platform for dialogue. He noted that that year's theme focused on safeguarding national and cultural heritage through media. He also thanked MNB for its strong support and hospitality.
In her comments, Ms. Gankhuyag expressed Mongolia's pride in hosting delegates from across the region and reaffirmed MNB's commitment to the event's success. She underscored the value of international cooperation for advancing broadcasting and media development.
The ABU General Assembly 2025 officially began that week, bringing together senior media professionals and experts from various countries.
