La nouvelle Représentante permanente de la Malaisie auprès des Nations Unies présente ses lettres de créance

La nouvelle Représentante permanente de la Malaisie auprès des Nations Unies, Mme Nadzirah binti Osman, a présenté aujourd'hui ses lettres de créance au Secrétaire général de l'ONU, M. António Guterres.

Prior to her appointment as Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations Office in New York, H.E. Nadzirah Osman was the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, from 2023. She has also held several senior leadership positions both abroad and at headquarters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

Abroad, she has served as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) from 2021 to 2023 and Ambassador of Malaysia to the Czech Republic from 2014 to 2017. From 2004 to 2009 she was posted to the High Commission of Malaysia in London, United Kingdom as Counsellor. Her first posting abroad was at the Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico City, Mexico as Second Secretary from 1997 to 2001.

At headquarters she has served as Deputy Secretary-General, Department of Multilateral Affairs from 2019 to 2021 and Undersecretary of the Multilateral Political Affairs Division from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, she served as Undersecretary of the Human Resource Management Division from 2010 to 2014 and Undersecretary of the Multilateral Economics and Environment Division from 2009 to 2010. In 2001, she was the Assistant Secretary in the Americas Division and subsequently the Principal Assistant Secretary from 2002 to 2004. She began her career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996 as Assistant Secretary in the Europe Division.
