NDSU Extension - Cass County invites youth, families and community members to discover the opportunities available through 4-H during its Cass County 4-HKick-Off Event on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Agricultural Education Center at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, 1805 Main Ave. W., West Fargo.
Whether families are brand new to 4-H or have been involved for years, the event offers an opportunity to explore projects, meet club leaders and Extension staff, learn about upcoming events and opportunities, and sign up for 4-H on the spot.
The event will showcase the many hands-on learning experiences available through 4-H, including agriculture and animals, arts and communication, clothing and textiles, food and nutrition, natural resources, citizenship and leadership, STEM and technology, and health and wellness.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit 4-H project and information tables, explore exhibits at the Ag Education Building and enjoy a special Milk Daisy the Cow experience.
Families can also purchase tickets for tractor rides to the popular Lost in the Valley attraction at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
"We look forward to connecting with new families and sharing the many opportunities 4-H has to offer youth from both urban and rural communities," said NDSU Extension 4-H Agent Samantha Weidner. "There truly is something for everyone in 4-H, and we're excited to help them find the opportunities that are the right fit for each family!"
The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about 4-H and the opportunities available to youth in Cass County.
