Local Press Release
Wednesday, August 12, 2026

AUSTIN, Texas - Active-duty service members and their families traveling through Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) are eligible for expedited access at TSA PreCheck® lanes. Military travelers should use the lane marked "Active-Duty Service Members, Use This Lane" at the TSA PreCheck entrance for front-of-the-line privileges.

"We are proud to support military members traveling through AUS," said Kieran Flynn, TSA federal security director for Austin. "Our partnership with the military community is important and expanding TSA PreCheck benefits helps the many active-duty service members and their families who live in Texas and use Austin's airport. TSA remains committed to making travel as convenient and stress-free as possible for those who serve our nation."

Military personnel do not need to be in uniform to use the military lanes. Simply show your valid military or veteran ID to the lane monitor for front-of-the-line service.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport serves military communities from several nearby installations, including Fort Hood, Camp Mabry, and other Central Texas bases.

In addition to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, El Paso International Airport (ELP) and San Antonio International Airport (SAT) also offer military lane privileges in Texas. Visit our Military Lanes page on TSA.gov for a complete list of all airports offering military lanes.

Additional TSA benefits for military include:
