U.S. Tissue Supply Remains Strong Amid Recent Tariff Updates

The availability of toilet paper and other tissue products in the United States remains unchanged by recent tariff actions.

Questions have been circulating about whether trade talks between the U.S. and Canada could make toilet paper and other tissue products more expensive or harder to find. While recent White House tariff actions draw added attention, they are not expected to affect the availability of tissue products in the U.S.

Currently, toilet paper and other tissue products imported from Canada are not covered by tariffs, even with the most recent tariff changes announced on September 8. The Canadian pulp used to make many tissue products in the U.S. is also unaffected by these actions and continues to enter the country without additional tariffs.

Toilet paper, tissue products and the raw materials for tissue production are also not subject to additional duties tied to USMCA rules, so they continue to enter the U.S. duty-free.
