Sister City Summer Exchange Program seeks donations

The City of Fairfield's Sister City Program will send five local high school students to Nirasaki, Japan, on a two-week cultural exchange from June 24 to July 8.

Located in the picturesque Yamanashi Prefecture, Nirasaki is known for its grapes, peaches, wine, and proximity to the majestic Mt. Fuji. During the trip, students will serve as ambassadors for Fairfield, live with host families, attend schools, explore historical and cultural landmarks, and gain valuable insights into Japanese culture and customs.

Each student is responsible for approximately $3,500 in exchange costs. The Sister City Program requests community support for these life-changing experiences to cover a portion of the fees which include airfare, meals, transportation, and day trips.

Sister City is proud to partner with the Fairfield Police Activities League non-profit organization another bridge offering community teens opportunities to grow, learn, and build theskills they need today and in the future.

Check or cash contributions will be accepted by mail or in person at the City of Fairfield, City Manager's Office, 1000 Webster Street, 4th Floor, Fairfield, CA, 94533. Make checks payable to the Fairfield Police Activities League (PAL) to qualify as a charitable donation.
