FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON - America's Essential Hospitals has endorsed the 340B Rebate Model Delay Act, H.R. 10770, introduced today by Reps. Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.), Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.), Tracey Mann (R-Kan.), and Lois Frankel (D-Fla.). The bipartisan legislation would delay implementation of the 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program for two years and preserve upfront 340B discounts for covered entities.
"The Rebate Model Pilot Program will cause direct harm to the communities and patients served by essential hospitals by shifting financial and operational risk onto safety-net providers that rely on 340B to stretch scarce federal resources and serve vulnerable patients," said Beth Feldpush, senior vice president of policy and advocacy at America's Essential Hospitals. "340B Rebate Model Delay Act would provide critical stability and ensure that the program continues to operate as Congress intended. We are grateful to Reps. Bresnahan, Dingell, Mann, and Frankel for their leadership and urge Congress to act before the rebate model is scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1."
