Police investigate home invasion

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a home invasion that occurred yesterday in Dartmouth.

On July 21, shortly after 7 p.m., officers responded to a report of a home invasion on Trenholme Street.

It was reported that a suspect forced his way into the home, assaulted and threatened the victim with a firearm before fleeing the scene in the victim's vehicle.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries by Emergency Health Services.

The victim's stolen vehicle was recovered by the Halifax Regional Police; however, the suspect was not located at that time.

The investigation is in the early stages and is being led by the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division's General Investigation Section with assistance from the Forensic Identification Section.
