Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (Interstate 580) Nighttime Closure Westbound Lane #2

Scheduled: Saturday, October 17, 2026, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Contra Costa County & Marin County - Caltrans maintenance will carry out overnight deck repairs on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580), implementing the closure of Lane #2 on the westbound upper deck Saturday, October 17, 2026, 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., the following morning. The closure extends from the Toll Plaza to the Marin County line; but westbound Lane #1 and bike path will remain accessible.
Caltrans appreciates the public's patience as we work to ensure the integrity of the roadway.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers of closure. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, plan to merge, and allow extra travel time.
