Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has directed that all flags at City facilities be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, Sept. 11, for Patriot Day, the annual memorial of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

"On Patriot Day, we remember the lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the resilience of a nation forever changed by the events of September 11," said Brown. "We honor those who perished and remain united in our commitment to never forget their legacy."

Flags should remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset on Thursday. Other government entities, citizens, and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
