New LTC Admission Notification Panel Now Available in the Web Portal

The Alabama Medicaid Agency (Medicaid) is pleased to announce the launch of a new LTC Web Portal Admission Notification Panel within the Provider Web Portal. This enhancement provides functionality equivalent to the current LTC admission notification software and offers a more streamlined, web-based option for submitting LTC admission notifications. The Alabama LTC Web Portal Admission Notification Panel is available at no charge to Medicaid providers.

The new panel allows authorized users to submit digital LTC admission notifications on behalf of Medicaid beneficiaries directly through the Provider Web Portal.

Who Has Access?

Access to the new LTC Web Portal Admission Notification Panel is available exclusively to provider and clerk accounts associated with the following provider types:

• Type 3 - Nursing Home / Hospital Swing Bed
• Type 68 - PACE Providers
• Type 53 - Waiver Providers - State Agencies Only
• Alabama Medicaid Agency

Benefits of Submitting Admission Notifications Through the Web Portal

Providers who choose to submit admission notifications through the web portal will benefit from:

• Data Field validations to reduce rejected submissions due to potential human error.
• No software updates are required, eliminating maintenance responsibilities.
• Better integration with current MMIS Data. When users search by Provider/Perf Provider or Recipient ID, the panel will auto-populate the associated data fields such as provider or recipient name.
• Provider/ Performing Provider ID and Recipient ID Search functionality.
• Faster Access to information to allow users to quickly locate records without navigating through multiple screens or lists.
• Improved data accuracy to minimize the risk of selecting the wrong provider or beneficiary.
• Streamlined workflow for high-volume providers to quickly retrieve specific information using IDs rather than manual name-based searches.

Medicaid encourages eligible providers to begin using the new LTC Web Portal Admission Notification Panel to take advantage of improved processing times and reduced administrative burden.
