From tags sales to season closures, there's a lot happening in Idaho during February that you should be aware of. Staying in the loop can be the difference between applying for that coveted controlled hunt tag and watching from the sidelines.

FEBRUARY 2026

2/5 - Citizens Shooting Range Advisory Committee Meeting #2 at 6 p.m. MST in Boise and streamed virtually (Learn more)

2/11-2/22 - OPEN: Public comment period for Chinook season setting
2/12 - Citizens Shooting Range Advisory Committee Meeting #3 at 6 p.m. MST in Boise and streamed virtually (Learn more)
2/15 - CLOSED: Spring black bear controlled hunt application period (Learn more)
2/16 - Presidents Day Public Holiday (Fish and Game Offices Closed)
2/17-2/19 - Spring/summer Chinook salmon public meetings
2/26 (TBA) - Citizens Shooting Range Advisory Committee Meeting #4 at 6 p.m. MST in Boise and streamed virtually
2/27 - OPEN: Public comment period for migratory game bird season setting
