ABU holds its 120th Administrative Council Meeting in Ulaanbaatar

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union has held its 120th Administrative Council Meeting and the meeting placed emphasis on strategic decisions that will reinforce the Union's governance and guide its path forward.

Mr. Inoue Tatsuhiko, ABU Vice-President and Executive Vice President of NHK, delivered the opening remarks.

The meeting was structured into two focused sessions: the morning session was chaired by Ms. Emiko Amagawa on behalf of Mr. Inoue Tatsuhiko, ABU Vice-President and Executive Vice President of NHK, while the afternoon session was chaired by Mr. Mustafa Sarıtaş on behalf of Prof. Mehmet Zahid Sobacı , ABU President and TRT Director General. Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, ABU Secretary-General, played a central role in the proceedings. Elected councilors participated both in person and through virtual attendance.

ABU Secretary-General Ahmed Nadeem provided an update on the Union, outlining initiatives to enhance member engagement. These proposals will be carried forward to the General Assembly for further deliberation, giving members the opportunity to contribute their views on strategies shaping the Union's future direction.

The Planning and Strategy Group (PSG) convened earlier to prepare the ground, ensuring the Administrative Council discussions were informed by a clear strategic focus.

The Administrative Council continues to play a vital role in setting policy, reviewing financial matters, and addressing issues of importance to members. This 120th meeting reinforced the Union's commitment to strong governance and strategic leadership in the rapidly evolving broadcasting landscape.

The outcomes of this meeting will contribute to strengthening ABU's position as the leading broadcasting organization in the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring continued value and support for all member organizations
