Play Readers Club
Our Productions Theatre Co., with the Young Artist Training Program, presents a Play Readers Club event on Friday, May 29, 3:30 p.m., at Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.
Artistic and Educational Director Stephanie Riggs will be leading this special event for all experience levels. Attendees will enjoy the reading of a special new award-winning play by teen playwright, Drew Hill, followed by a lively and collaborative discussion about the creative process and the work itself.
Participation is free, but advance registration is required. Registration will close 24 hours prior to the workshop start time. This event is recommended for adults and high school students, but readers of all ages are welcome.
This event is sponsored in part by The Hattie Mae Lesley Foundation, Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, Bank of America N.A. Co-Trustee, The Texas Commission on the Arts, The Town of Flower Mound, and the City of Lewisville.
Our Productions Theatre Co. is one of ten local groups receiving funding from the City of Lewisville through a grant program designed to foster cultural and fine arts in the community.
The Grand is Lewisville's home for the arts. It presents a variety of regional and national touring performers, art exhibits, and classes, while also giving the many arts groups in the greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works. Its multiple performance spaces play host to a variety of events, including live music, theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more. The center features the 294-seat Huffines Performance Hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and courtyard.
To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center. Please be aware that heavy construction at the Main Street intersection with I-35E could cause traffic delays.
