Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival is this Sunday, May 17

Mayor Emily B. Jabbour and the City of Hoboken invite residents and visitors to the annual Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival on Sunday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Washington Street, between Observer Highway and Seventh Street. The event attracts over 30,000 visitors each spring and showcases the city's vibrant cultural scene. It features live musical performances on two stages, a variety of eateries, and over 300 artists, makers, crafters, and vendors.  

This year's headlining performance on the Observer Highway Stage is a Freestyle Fest featuring a lineup of extraordinary performers including Betty Dee of Sweet Sensation, The Cover Girls, Cynthia, and George LaMond. "I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend at the Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival celebrating community, art, and music," said Mayor Jabbour. "This annual tradition kicks off the unofficial start to summer and there is no better way to do that than together with neighbors listening to both local talent and world class artists. The Seventh Street Stage line-up, located on Washington Street between Sixth Street and Seventh Street, is as follows: 

• 11:45 a.m. - All Saints Bold Dancers

• 12:05 p.m. - Mile Square Theatre

• 12:30 p.m. - Drum Den

• 1 p.m. - School of Rock

• 1:30 p.m. - Finn Douglas

• 2:15 p.m. - 3 Dollars (Hoboken residents)

• 3:30 p.m. - Day 19 (led by a Hoboken resident)

• 4:45 p.m. - Janétza Miranda

The Observer Highway Stage line-up, located on Washington Street between Observer Highway and Newark Street, is as follows:

• 11:45 a.m. - Broadway's The Great Gatsby: Dan Rosales and Hoboken resident Dariana Mullen from the cast of Gatsby will perform two numbers from the show - Second Hand Suit and Better Hold Tight

• 12:45 p.m.- Dallas Connors (Hoboken resident)

• 2 p.m. - DJ Bripee (Hoboken resident)

• 3:30 p.m. - Freestyle Fest featuring, Betty Dee of Sweet Sensation, The Cover Girls, Cynthia, and George LaMond

Please note, all set start times are approximate and subject to change.

Due to the festival, road closures on Washington Street and adjacent east/west streets will begin at 5 a.m., with roads reopening after clean-up is complete, which is anticipated by 9 p.m. No Parking signs will be posted, and NJ Transit buses will be detoured from Washington Street onto Hudson and Bloomfield Streets. Residents are urged to follow parking restrictions and consider using mass transit as a gridlock alert has been issued.

The Hoboken Fall Arts & Music Festival is funded in part by a grant from the NJ Department of State, Division of Travel and Tourism (www.visitnj.org) and is sponsored by Ironstate, Veolia, Hackensack Meridian Health, and the Hudson County Division of Parks & Roads.
