City of St. Petersburg Invites Community to Nominate Local Veterans for Annual Recognition
September 22, 2026 - The City of St. Petersburg invites residents to submit nominations for the Honored Veteran Award through Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026. Mayor Kenneth T. Welch will present this recognition to one or more outstanding local veterans whose service and commitment to our nation reflect honor and dedication. The presentation will take place at the City's 13th annual Veterans Day Celebration event.

Location to be determined
At last year's Veterans Day Celebration, Mayor Welch posthumously presented an award to Seaman Bryant Keith Harrell of the U.S. Navy.
