Richard B. Levin, the chair of Taft's FinTech practice will be speaking on a panel at the Securities Transfer Association (STA) Annual Conference on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The panel, titled "Tokenization of Public Equities - Disruption or Evolution?" will examine how the SEC's 2025 agenda and its Crypto Task Force are shaping the regulation of tokenized equities. Speakers will discuss the impact of blockchain technology on traditional transfer agents, the emergence of FinTech disruptors entering the space, and the implications for equity ownership, market access, as well as the future role of transfer agents in modern capital markets.

Levin is the chair of the FinTech Practice and one of the first lawyers to focus on the regulation of blockchain and digital assets. He is considered a legal thought leader in FinTech. Levin has represented electronic trading platforms since 1999. He brings his experience as a senior legal and compliance officer on Wall Street and in London to advising clients on corporate, FinTech, securities, and regulatory issues.
