Bushfire support for South-west Victoria

Dairy Australia and WestVic Dairy, as members of the South West Dairy Industry Leadership Group (SWDILG), are working with industry partners to deliver support for farmers.

Practical information and resources are available to support preparedness, response and recovery, including planning tools, checklists and links to relevant services.

Key support and recovery resources

Dairy Australia

Dairy Australia has information and resources to prepare for and manage the impacts of fires on dairy farms. Access information and resources

Agriculture Victoria

If fires have affected your property - including dead or injured animals, crop loss or damage, or fodder and water needs - you can access information and support on the Agriculture Victoria website.

Fodder support

Emergency fodder is being made available for farmers in fire-affected areas. To request fodder, contact the Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) on or visit VFF emergency fodder support. If you wish to supply emergency fodder, complete the VFF emergency fodder supply form.

Victorian Government

Recovery support is available for people affected by the Victorian Fires that started on 7 January 2026. Visit vic.gov.au for more information.

About the SWDILG

Established in 2016 by the Victorian Government in response to the dairy price downturn, the SWDILG continues to play a pivotal role in coordinating support services for dairy farmers and industry stakeholders.

The SWDILG members include the dairy farmer representative bodies, Dairy Farmers Victoria and United Dairyfarmers of Victoria, Agriculture Victoria, Rural Financial Counselling Service Victoria West, Dairy Australia, WestVic Dairy, milk processors, local government, relevant Commonwealth government agencies and local health care services.
