Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Radosław Sikorski discussed Russia's drone attack on Poland on the night of September 10. The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine is ready to provide assistance in countering Russian drones, building a defense system, and training Polish military personnel."These are difficult days - they are always difficult during wartime for Ukraine. But now, there are challenges for Poland as well. We are grateful that you are here supporting us. I have spoken with Prime Minister Tusk and other leaders. We are close neighbors. We are thankful for your help and support from the very beginning of the war. On our side, we are ready to help by sharing our experience. We are open to it," the President noted.
The meeting also focused on the importance of increasing pressure on Russia, joint defense production, and implementing bilateral defense agreements.
The parties discussed producing interceptor drones under the EU's SAFE defense initiative. Poland is interested in this and ready for cooperation.
Special attention was given to Ukraine's EU membership. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that it is crucial to open the first negotiation cluster with the support of all 27 EU member states for Ukraine and Moldova together.
