As part of the activities organized for the celebration of the Romanian Armed Forces' Day, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad, discussed on Wednesday, October 22nd, via videoconference, with the leadership of the Romanian structures deployed to the theaters of operations.
The leaders of the detachments deployed by the Romanian Armed Forces to the EUFOR ALTHEA Operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EUTM RCA Mission in the Central African Republic, the NATO KFOR Operation in the Kosovo Theater of Operations, the NATO MISSION IN IRAQ/NMI operation in the IRAQ Theater of Operations, the mission of the Anti-Tank Platoon deployed to Slovakia, as well as the leaders of the Romanian military detachments deployed to Bulgaria and Poland briefed the Chief of Defence Staff on the status of the mission accomplishment.
General Gheorghiță Vlad thanked the Romanian military personnel deployed to the theaters of operations, assigned in positions abroad or in NATO, EU and UN-led missions for their professionalism, dedication and team spirit demonstrated during the mission accomplishment and for the way they represented Romania in cooperation with its partners and allies.
At the same time, he congratulated them on the occasion of the Romanian Armed Forces' Day and wished them success in continuing the missions they perform in support of international security, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a high level of vigilance and discipline throughout the adaptation to new missions, at the end of the personnel rotation process.
"I have full confidence in your level of training and professionalism you demonstrate every day. You are ambassadors of Romania and the Romanian Armed Forces worldwide, representing the combat colours with dignity in complex and difficult missions. Take care of your comrades, act safely and return home healthy, with your mission accomplished," General Vlad stated.
Romania will be holding the command of the European Union Operation EUFOR ALTHEA in Bosnia and Herzegovina, until January 2026, with approximately 430 soldiers deployed, as well as the command of the European Union Training Mission in Central African Republic - EUTM RCA.
Approximately 1,100 Romanian servicemen are currently participating in NATO, EU and UN-led missions and operations.
