Creative Greensboro and New Arrivals Institute Launch Bus Shelter Art Project

Creative Greensboro and New Arrivals Institute (NAI) have partnered on a new community-led public art initiative that will bring original artwork to three bus shelters across Greensboro.

The project, Community Art in Transit: Stories of Hope and Home, is now accepting applications from Guilford County-based artists to design artwork for shelters located in west, central, and east Greensboro. The application deadline is Wednesday, February 18. Additional details about the artist call are available online.

The initiative is funded through Creative Greensboro's Neighborhood Arts program. In 2025, the City awarded two $15,000 grants to community-based arts organizations to support original neighborhood-based projects. NAI is one of two grant recipients, receiving funding to lead the planning, design, and installation of an outdoor visual arts project.
