WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released a video statement following the launch of the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program that Senate Republicans included in President Trump's Working Families Tax Cuts legislation. The investment will benefit patients in rural communities in Louisiana and across the country.

"The single largest of its kind, the Rural Health Transformation Fund, has officially launched and will benefit folks in rural Louisiana and across the country," said Dr. Cassidy.

"Republicans' economic agenda didn't just lower taxes, it's lowering barriers to care as well," continued Dr. Cassidy.

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts bill, President Trump and Republicans are investing $50 billion into rural health care-that's fifty billion with a 'B!'

The single largest of its kind, the Rural Health Transformation Fund, has officially launched and will benefit patients in rural Louisiana and across the country.

Right now, families in rural areas-think Cameron Parish, Washington Parish, Vernon Parish, Tensas, you name it-are facing significant challenges.

Longer drives to see their doctors, higher chronic disease rates, worse outcomes.

Now, I'm a doc who served patients coming from the rural area, and I've witnessed these issues firsthand.

Republicans are working with the Trump administration to deliver solutions.

By passing the Rural Health Transformation Fund, we're expanding access to lifesaving care closer to home. Giving rural hospitals the resources they need to stay open, hire more doctors and nurses, serve more patients. Investing in telehealth transportation and community-based care tailored for those living in rural areas.

Because quality care shouldn't depend on your address.
