BRENTWOOD POLICE PARTNER WITH SUTTER HEALTH TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

In partnership with Sutter Delta Medical Center and the Family Justice Center, the Brentwood Police Department participated in a new community initiative focused on improving emergency preparedness throughout East Contra Costa County. Earlier this summer, officers joined Sutter Delta nurses and technicians to co-host a free public safety education event featuring CPR instruction, "Stop the Bleed" training, and hands-on demonstrations designed to empower residents with life-saving skills.

ADOPT-A-SENIOR AND TURKEY RAFFLE PROGRAMS HELP SPREAD SOME HOLIDAY CHEER

The Turkey Raffle is open now through November 8 for Brentwood residents ages 55 and older. One entry per household. Winners will receive a 10-12 lb turkey to be picked up at the Brentwood Senior Activity Center the week before Thanksgiving. A big thank you to the Brentwood Senior Citizens Club for their donation towards the purchase of turkeys.

Spread holiday cheer by taking part in Brentwood's 5th annual Adopt-A-Senior program. Each year, community members sign up to "adopt" a local senior by providing gifts and a grocery card to brighten their holiday season. Seniors in the program are homebound, on limited incomes, or without nearby family, and your support makes a big difference.

Wish lists will be available in early November, and gifts will be due in early December. Sign-ups are open now for anyone who would like to participate.

Applications to participate in either program are available now at the Brentwood Senior Activity Center. For more information, call (925) 516-5380.

PUBLIC WORKS

STREET MAINTENANCE TEAM IMPROVES SIDEWALK SAFETY

Despite the rain, our dedicated Street Maintenance crew pressed forward with sidewalk replacement work along Garin Ranch Parkway. This stretch of roadway is well-traveled by parents and students heading to and from school, making fall break the ideal time to complete the project with minimal disruption. The work reflects thoughtful planning by City staff to improve safety while limiting impacts on our community.

LEAF BAG PROGRAM RETURNS

In an effort to minimize the impact of fallen leaves in storm drains and to help street sweeping efforts, the City provides FREE leaf bags between October - January to City residents.
