Accreditation visit and Year Seven report update

Boise State is preparing for its Year Seven Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness accreditation visit from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), the university's accrediting body. This visit is part of the regular accreditation review cycle; the university's last comprehensive review occurred in 2019.

In advance of the April visit, the university submitted its Year Seven Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness report, which focuses on Standard One: Student Success and Institutional Effectiveness.

The report highlights how Boise State advances its mission through the Blueprint for Success (2021-2028) and demonstrates how strategic planning, program assessment, program prioritization, budgeting, and data systems are aligned to support student success and continuous improvement. It also highlights:

  • Continued progress in student retention and graduation
  • Implementation of the Strategic Enrollment and Retention Plan (SERP)
  • Faculty-led efforts in program learning outcomes assessment and University learning outcomes assessment
  • The integrated planning model connecting strategy, evidence, and resource allocation

The full Year Seven Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness report and the associated appendices are available now.

In 2025, the university submitted the Year Six Report of Policies, Regulations and Financial Review Report, which focused on NWCCU's Standard 2. That report and its associated appendices also are available online.

A peer evaluation team will visit campus Wednesday, April 8 - Friday, April 10, and will hold open forums for faculty, staff and students. Details about the forum schedule and participation guidelines are available in this recent article.

Accreditation reflects the collective work of the university community and provides an opportunity to demonstrate Boise State's commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and student success.
