Iowa Farm Bureau Federation statement on U.S. House passage of 5-year farm bill

The following statement may be attributed to Iowa Farm Bureau Federation President Brent Johnson:

"Iowa Farm Bureau members welcome the bipartisan passage of a five-year farm bill in the U.S. House and are thankful for the work of the Iowa congressional delegation to ensure a vote. The Farm, Food and National Security Act of 2026 is important legislation that protects interstate commerce, such as addressing Prop 12, and is welcome news for farmers currently facing a patchwork of state laws to navigate and consumers who have felt increased food costs. This legislation lends much needed support to farmers during challenging economic times and demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting America's farmers and rural communities. We are thankful for the U.S. House passing this important bill."
