esVolta closed an expanded corporate credit facility of up to $450 million, more than doubling the $200 million facility it secured in 2024. Led by Nomura, with participation from a group of institutional lenders, the financing will support the development of new utility-scale battery storage projects, including equipment procurement and pre-construction activities
Orrick advised esVolta.
esVolta, LP is a developer, owner and operator of utility-scale energy storage projects across the U.S. The company's portfolio of operational and in-construction contracted storage capacity is approximately 2.0 GWh, supplying both utilities and corporate offtakers. The firm has over 25 GWhs of future storage projects in its pipeline.
This financing provides esVolta with the capital needed to accelerate development of its large battery storage pipeline across key U.S. markets. The increase from $200 million to $450 million underscores the increasing scale of investment and the growing importance of energy storage in supporting grid reliability and the energy transition.
The Orrick team was Lisa Magged, Molly Jergenson and Joey Kim.
