With the launch of AI Assist, households can enjoy greater comfort, lower bills and reduce emissions - all run by advanced machine-learning-powered features.

Heating and hot water remain the largest part of household energy costs in Europe, accounting for 79% of the average bill (2). With AI Assist, tado° is bringing smart heating to an entirely new level taking home heating from automation, where devices follow pre-set rules, to true intelligence. As a result, customers can save up to 55% more compared to using tado° without AI Assist (3), with heating that learns, predicts and optimises in real time making heating more adaptive and efficient.

AI Assist: Intelligent features for tado° X

AI Assist builds on the strong foundation of Auto Assist, tado° 's existing subscription service that automates geofencing and open window detection. For the same €29.99 per year (5) or €3,99 per month as Auto Assist, AI Assist unlocks a set of advanced, intelligence-driven features that go far beyond simple automation for tado° X customers:

• Adaptive Heating: Learns the unique heat-up and cool-down characteristics of each room with tado° AI. It fine-tunes the control of your Smart Radiator Thermostats to optimize comfort and energy efficiency.
• Preheat Before Arrival: tado° AI uses advanced machine learning to predict when you'll return home and preheats your home in time for your arrival.‍
• Energy IQ: Uses AI-powered insights that reveal exactly where and how you're using energy, enabling smarter decisions and bigger savings.‍
• Holiday Mode: Lets you set your heating to match your time away, so you return to a comfortable home while avoiding unnecessary energy use.

Better for your home, better for the planet

Heating is not just costly, it is also one of the biggest sources of domestic emissions in Europe.

While AI isn't the sole solution to the climate crisis, it can dramatically cut unnecessary heating and emissions. AI Assist is available today for all tado° X customers as part of the paid subscription which costs €29.99 a year or €3,99 per month. All customers have to do to access it, is spend a few seconds to subscribe to it on the app.

Existing Auto Assist subscribers on tado° X will be upgraded automatically at no additional cost.

Auto-Assist will remain an optional paid feature for tado° V3+ customers.

The tado° X range is the latest generation of smart heating products from the company. It consists of:
