Disgraced Former FBI Director James Comey Indicted

A federal grand jury indicted former FBI Director Comey this week on two criminal charges, one for lying to Congress and another for obstruction of justice. The indictment stems from Comey's testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on September 30, 2020. In his testimony, Comey told Senator Ted Cruz he never authorized someone to leak to the press concerning the fake Russia Hoax to spin the bogus narrative of Russian election interference. Last month, Columbia law professor Daniel Richman admitted he regularly communicated classified information to reporters on behalf of Comey to shape press coverage about the sham Russia-gate investigation. If convicted, Comey faces up to five years in prison.

As I reported months ago, we know that top FBI officials, including Comey, actively worked to sabotage President Donald Trump during his first term in office by opening a full investigation alleging bogus collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia. They all knew there was no collusion, yet they still pushed the lie. The result was years of a manufactured scandal that undermined President Trump's first term.

This is one of the most egregious political scandals in American history. The false allegations that President Trump was supposedly working with the Russians were very harmful. For two years, the Trump Administration was hampered and bogged Comey's corrupt and criminal actions.

Remember it was only a couple of months ago that Comey took to social media to threaten President Trump with death after he arranged pebbles on a beach to say "8647." Secret Service agents were called in to investigate the death threat. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Noem correctly sounded the alarm that this phrase "86" means to kill and "47" referred to President Trump, our 47th president. Leftists and Antifa use this phrase to incite violence.

Comey falsely claimed he didn't know this when he made the threat. You can make two deductions from that claim: either Comey is an incompetent law enforcement officer for not knowing street symbology for violence or he is a damned liar. Take your pick.

President Trump was right from the very beginning. House Republicans, including the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on which I serve, are working with the Trump administration to bring a complete and transparent investigation into this shameless act of political corruption and will not stop until every Deep State traitor has been brought to justice.

Recent years have shown us a series of inept, incompetent and corrupt FBI leaders. When I was a kid, the FBI was considered the best agency we had and almost every kid wanted to be an FBI agent. Those days are gone. Comey deserves to go to jail for this and other reasons. The FBI needs a complete overhaul. Hopefully, Kash Patel and Dan Bongino will restore this agency so that someday a 10-year-old kid will say "I want to be an FBI agent when I grow up."

Congressional Report: Google Quashed Free Speech

A damning report issued this week by the House Judiciary Committee confirmed what many of us knew: Google was quashing free speech on orders from Joe Biden during the COVID-19 pandemic. The report notes that Google admitted that they coordinated efforts with the Biden administration to censor and silence conservative voices, scientists, or doctors that dared question Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Biden administration's badly flawed COVID-19 policies. For years, the left celebrated their cancellations with glee and berated and trashed these brave voices, even demanding that more be done to bring the hammer of censorship down. Well-known conservatives including Dan Bongino, Sebastian Gorka and Steve Bannon were permanently banned from Google's YouTube platform for questioning Biden. Not for spewing hatred or vile rhetoric and lies but cancelled for merely asking questions.

Fast forward to today and these same leftists are suddenly supporters of free speech and are absolutely outraged that Jimmy Kimmel was suspended for a few days for his vile rhetoric and lies about the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk. The left has no conscious or shame.

Gosar Sponsors Legislation Ending Taxpayer-funded Child Mutilation

This week, I cosponsored the Childhood Genital Mutilation Prevention Act, legislation making it a federal crime to knowingly perform or attempt gender-related medical experiments on minors, with penalties of up to 10 years in prison. The bill also permanently cuts off Medicare coverage, bans providers who perform these procedures from participating in Medicare, and blocks federal funds from subsidizing these procedures or health plans covering them.

No one should cut off or mutilate healthy body parts needed for development - especially with children. I'm utterly appalled at how many institutions are convincing minors and parents that the only possible way to help their child is by going through with these horrific surgeries. This is not "gender affirmation" but gender denial. Taxpayers should not have to pay for irreversible child mutilation. This legislation would codify into law President Trump's recent executive order Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation, which prohibits federal funding for gender procedures on minors.

Schumer Shutdown Looms

So once again we are faced with another Democrat government shutdown next Wednesday, this time at the hands of New York Senator Chuck Schumer. Remember: more than a week ago, the House Republicans voted to keep the government open and sent a clean, nonpartisan short-term government funding bill to the Senate. However, Schumer blocked the Senate from voting on the funding bill.

Before we get too worked up, let's just remind ourselves: between 60% and 66% of direct federal payments, or approximately $4 trillion, are "mandatory government spending" which does not rely on Congress acting to fund them every year. That means many direct payments like social security, interest payments on the debt, Medicare, Medicaid and a host of other programs, including veterans' disability, will still be paid as usual. Further, all essential government employees still must work. And in the history of government shutdowns not one federal employee went without getting paid in full.

What's the deal with Democrats? They want money in the budget to pay for illegal aliens, for open borders, for criminals and to pay drug cartels for human trafficking through a variety of NGO's (many claiming falsely to be "Christian"). They want to put illegals and dead people back on the Medicaid rolls. Sounds insane and it is. Get this, they also want to resume DEI projects in foreign countries, remove the work requirements for taxpayer-funded healthcare and force taxpayers to fund NPR's most liberal programming. All this nonsense would add another $1.5 trillion in federal spending.

As you can see, there is a big difference between what normal Americans want - a lean budget focused on necessities - and the Democrats' destructive wishes for our culture and nation.

Let's also not forget another reason for the pending Schumer Shutdown: he is bowing to pressure from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and is terrified that he will lose his Senate seat her. Once again, Schumer is putting his political ambitions ahead of what's best for America.

President Trump is unmoved. He is using the Schumer Shutdown to furlough unnecessary federal workers. The Democrats are likely going to regret their ill-advised strategy yet again, especially as thousands of needless federal workers get fired.

We will get over this. We always do. Hopefully this Schumer Shutdown leaves a mark on the Democrats they won't soon forget - don't mess with Trump because he's not playing around.
