Washington, DC - Today, the House of Representatives voted to participate in the Conference Committee between the House and Senate to finalize the fiscal year 2026 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; and Legislative Branch funding bills. As part of the process, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-04) named Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), a senior member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture as one of 13 Democratic Conferees to the Conference Committee. This will be the first Appropriations Conference Committee to take place since fiscal year 2019.
"I am honored that Speaker Johnson has named me to serve on the Conference Committee for these vital Appropriations bills," said Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09). "As I enter these negotiations, I will carry with me the voices of the people I represent - our farmers who grow what sustains America, our military members and veterans who defend Liberty for us all, and the hardworking families of Northwest Ohio. My focus will remain on producing bipartisan, bicameral legislation that strengthens our nation, invests in those who serve, and ensures America's producers and defenders are never left behind."
