Nielsen Appoints Roberto Ruiz to Lead Measurement Science

Ruiz has helped fuel growth for both client-side and media companies, including, most recently, TelevisaUnivision.
He will spearhead transformation, innovation and momentum behind Nielsen's evolving measurement science capabilities.

April 13, 2026 - New York - Nielsen, a global leader in audience measurement and media intelligence, today announced that it has appointed Roberto Ruiz as its new Head of Measurement Science.

In this position, Ruiz will spearhead the strategy and rollout of new products, technologies and capabilities under Nielsen's measurement science arm, with a particular focus on driving innovation across Nielsen's measurement solutions and enhancements for clients.

He reports to Nielsen Chief Information and Data Officer Russ Soper.

Ruiz brings more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of audience measurement, media strategy and data analytics. He most recently led his own advisory practice, where he helped media and marketing organizations navigate AI-driven transformation in measurement and audience intelligence.

Prior to that, Ruiz spent nearly two decades at Univision and, later, TelevisaUnivision, where he served as EVP and Chief Research Officer. Operating at the intersection of data, analytics and revenue, he built and led a best-in-class research and analytics team and is a notable industry voice on advancing the accurate measurement of diverse and multicultural audiences.

A recognized industry expert and thought leader, Ruiz has spoken at major stages, including at CES, Cannes Lions, Circana Summit and the ANA Masters of Marketing conference.
