Public Comments Sought for Proposed Housing Plan Substantial Amendments

Greensboro residents may review and comment on the proposed Substantial Amendments to Annual Action Plans for Fiscal Years 2020-2025. The Public Comment Period will be from Thursday, March 26, to Monday, April 27. The proposed substantial amendments are available at https://www.greensboro-nc.gov/substantialamendment, and the Annual Action Plans for Fiscal Years 2020-2025 are available here. The Annual Action Plan outlines how the City will use anticipated US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding to address affordable housing and community development needs in Greensboro and Guilford County, from the following programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA).

The reprogramming of HUD funds requires a substantial amendment.

The purpose of the proposed substantial amendment to the Annual Action Plans for Fiscal Years 2020-2023 is to change the distribution in CDBG allocations that are greater than 25% of the annual allocation, and to fund new projects not listed in the Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2024 and Fiscal Year 2025.
