Man Deceased After Shooting In Northwest Portland

A man has died after a shooting in Northwest Portland. Homicide Detectives are responding to investigate. Additional information will be released when appropriate.

A Man has been shot and killed in Northwest Portland.
On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 8:36 p.m., officers from the Central Precinct responded to the 2900 block of Northwest Nicolai Street on reports of a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived at the location, they found a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by a community member and paramedics, the man died at the scene.
Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives have responded to the scene to investigate. If anyone has information about this incident, they are asked to please send an email to [email protected]or call 503-823-0479. Please reference case number 25-262941.
During the investigation, Northwest Nicolai Street will be closed between Northwest 29th Avenue and Northwest 31st Avenue.
The identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed the cause of death and after family members have been notified. The PIO is not responding to the scene. More information will be released when appropriate.
