Willkie advised Heeney Capital on its landmark mining concession with the Republic of Venezuela and Corporación Venezolana de MinerÃa to develop and operate a major gold mining project in the El Callao Mining District of Venezuela.
Heeney Capital recently announced that it signed an agreement at the G20 Energy Abundance Ministerial in Houston, Texas, to develop the project in El Callao, one of the most prolific gold belts in the Guayana Shield that hosts numerous Tier 1 gold assets. The deal will catalyze up to $1 billion in investment.
Heeney Capital is a private investment firm focused on critical minerals, strategic resources, and industrial supply chains supporting U.S. and allied economic security interests.
The Willkie team was led by Corporate partner Brad Honeycutt and counsel Emerson W. Girardeau, III and Global Trade & Investment partner Britt Mosman and counsel David Levine, and included partner Soumya Dayananda and associates Braxton Smith and Jonathan Seliger.
