Sen. Moran Secures Over $29 Million in Federal Resources for Water Infrastructure Projects in Kansas

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) - a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations - today announced over $29 million in federal investments in Kansas by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The federal resources were included in the FY2026 Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill, which passed the Senate as part of a three-bill appropriations package. The legislation now heads to the President's desk to be signed into law.

"The federal investments secured in this legislation will help improve and modernize critical water infrastructure projects across Kansas," said Sen. Moran. "These resources will bolster the work of the Army Corps of Engineers to reduce the risk of severe flooding, preserve the long-term sustainability and operations of waterworks in our communities and protect Kansans' homes and businesses from devastating impacts from severe weather. Investing in the future of our water infrastructure will help to keep local residents safe for generations to come."
