The Weill Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology will bring together leading scientists from across the globe and across disciplines for its 8th Biennial Weill Institute Symposium, Oct. 13-14, at Cornell University.
The two-day program, taking place in Ithaca, NY., will showcase advances in molecular and cell biology research, while fostering opportunities for Cornell students and postdoctoral scholars to connect with internationally recognized leaders in the life sciences.
"This symposium is a flagship of the Weill Institute," said Brian Crane, director of the Weill Institute and the George W. and Grace L. Todd Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences. "It brings together scientists from diverse disciplines, accelerates discovery and provides our students and postdocs with unique opportunities to interact with world-renown leaders advancing our understanding of life at the molecular level."
On Oct. 13, the Weill Institute Emerging Scholars Symposium will feature early career researchers presenting their work and engaging with faculty, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows across the life sciences.
The following day, Oct. 14. the 8th Biennial Weill Institute Symposium will highlight talks by six distinguished scientists at the forefront of their fields:
As a hub of life science research at Cornell, the Institute supports cutting-edge work across molecular biology, genetics, and cell signaling through integrated research, training, and outreach efforts.
The program is part of the Weill Institute's broader mission to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, accelerate discovery, and translate basic research into new knowledge and solutions that benefit human health.
