ORANGE, CT. - November 11, 2025 - Avangrid, Inc., a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, today honors the 343 veterans who are part of its workforce in recognition of Veterans Day. Veterans represent 4% of Avangrid's total workforce, and the company reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

"Veterans embody the values that make our country and company strong-leadership, resilience, and a deep commitment to service," said Avangrid CEO Jose Antonio Miranda. "We're proud to stand with those who've worn the uniform and honor their contributions, not just on Veterans Day, but every day through meaningful policies and a supportive workplace environment."

"Our Veterans continue their service by helping provide affordable, reliable, and secure energy across our geographical footprint", said Brian Harrell, Avangrid's Chief Security Officer and Marine Corps Veteran, "their dedication to the Avangrid mission is seen and felt every day."

In August, Avangrid earned a 2025 Military Friendly Employer designation from Military Friendly. Military Friendly is the standard that measures an organization's commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for the military community.

As a Military Friendly employer, Avangrid has been recognized for its commitment to serving the military and veteran community through the company's policies, practices, and outcomes in six critical areas: support and retention; opportunity and advancement; hiring and onboarding; culture and commitment; policies and compliance; and recruiting and sourcing.

Additionally, Avangrid has an employee resource group-AVAN-Veterans-dedicated to promoting career development and enrichment for Avangrid employees who have served. This group is open to all employees and provides community building, networking, and professional development. This group hosts monthly nationwide calls to promote events, organizations, and share resources conducted by our local chapters. The group also participates in recruitment events focused on helping veterans transition out of active duty and into the workforce.

"As Veterans, it means a lot to work in a company that shares our values of teamwork and fosters camaraderie," said AVAN-Veterans Chair Micah Weinstein "Our employee resource group AVAN-Veterans allows us to connect from all aspects of the company through our shared service and support each other and the Veteran community."

Veterans play an important role in providing reliable and affordable electricity to homes and businesses across the country. For example, more than half of the operators working in Avangrid's National Control Center in Vancouver, Washington served in the armed forces. Their experience operating the military's energy systems translates well to remotely operating Avangrid's nationwide fleet of energy generating projects.

Avangrid is committed to supporting its employees who serve or have served in the military through the company's extensive health and wellbeing programs, vibrant employee communities, and opportunities to learn and grow. This includes Avangrid's military policy, which supports and assists those in the uniformed services by providing pay and benefits that exceed federal requirements.
