The City of Mesa's MesaMoves Program celebrates Valley Bike Month this April with a series of free, community-focused events designed to promote safe cycling and active transportation for residents of all ages.
•Thursday, April 2 -Smart Cycling FUN-damentals
This free, beginner-friendly class is ideal for new riders or those returning to cycling. Participants will learn how to plan rides, prepare their bicycles and navigate city streets safely. Register online.
•Wednesday, April 10 - Helmet Pop Up
MesaMoves will be at the Downtown Mesa Association's Sunset Market (Macdonald Avenue and Main Street) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to provide free helmets for all ages, while supplies last.
•Tuesday, April 15 - Bike-to-Work Day
A community ride will depart Lehi Park at 7 a.m., arriving at the Plaza at Mesa City Center for breakfast, refreshments and free T-shirts, while supplies last. Riders should bring their own bicycles and helmets. Register online.
•Tuesday, April 29: Smart Cycling FUN-damentals
A repeat session of the April 2 class, offering another opportunity to learn essential cycling skills and safety tips. Register online.
MesaMoves is dedicated to safety education and encourages active transportation choices in Mesa through the development of well-connected routes. Developed and operated by the Transportation Department and our dedicated outreach volunteers, the program offers a variety of free community events, safety classes, educational kits, bike maps and helmets.
