Bulgaria highly appreciates your efforts and the Lebanese Government's resolute steps to reestablish political stability in Lebanon. This was stated by Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov at his meeting with the President of the Lebanese Republic Gen. Joseph Aoun. Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov welcomed the strong commitment of the new leadership of the country to strengthen government institutions and to achieve economic revitalization in an extremely complicated regional context. As a member state of the European Union, Bulgaria continues to be committed to support for Lebanon in its pursuit of peace, security and sustainable development, Rossen Jeliazkov reiterated.

Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov expressed his confidence that the current visit of Gen. Joseph Aoun would give a fresh impetus to the cooperation between Bulgaria and Lebanon. Your visit is a clear indication of the will of both countries to intensify political dialog and to push bilateral relations to a new, higher level, Rossen Jeliazkov noted. The Prime Minister stressed the opportunities for fruitful cooperation in the field of economy, education, culture, tourism and security.

The discussion in the Prime Minister's Office placed emphasis on the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries, based on mutual respect and trust. The upcoming anniversary next year is yet another proof. In 2026 Bulgaria and Lebanon will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
